Celtic fans win FIFA Best honor in the midst of UEFA sanctions
Celtic won Monday the FIFA Best Amateur Scholarship in London, less than 24 hours after being led by UEFA.
The followers of Old Firm won the honor of the best fans for their homage to the Lisbon Lions in May, for the 50th commemoration that the club won the European Cup, after the votes of supporters of other clubs on the site of FIFA.
In a performance led by Sir Alex Ferguson and Kenny Dalglish, the fans participated in a card game that showed a picture of the European Cup, with the words "Lions of Lisbon" in their last round of last season at Parkhead in Tribute to the triumph of Celtic in 1967 on Inter Milan in the Portuguese capital.
Celtic Administrator Ian Bankier said: "The show that was the focal point of this honor was for a group of players who grew up just a few kilometers from Celtic Football Club Glasgow.
"They were instructed by a man who was a legend, conceived in eastern Scotland, who began his vocation for coal mining, he said that" a club is nothing without its admirers ".
"This rationality that we value and which drives everything we do, for the benefit of our disciples and the world, I recognize this respect with appreciation and modesty."
Prior to Monday, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Discipline Body fined Celtic £ 8,900 for a mid-game Champions League strike with Paris Saint-Germain a month ago.
The fine has led Celtic to spend £ 150,000 in penalties for fan behavior over the last six years and this is the fourth time UEFA has imposed a fine on it since the start of the 2016-17 season.
