Usain Bolt gets Borussia Dortmund’s offer for trial

Former Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt confirmed that Borussia Dortmund had offered him an open invitation to a trial in the future.

The legendary Jamaican athlete is still recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered at the World Athletics Championships in the summer before retiring from athletics.

The 31-year-old has eight Olympic gold medals, holds world records of 100 and 200 meters and is a known Manchester United fan and has spent time training with the Premier League team in the past .

Eager to see what he can do on the field at the elite level, Bolt says he is looking to recover before accepting the offer of a Dortmund test.

"Dortmund said the invitation is always open, so it's about overcoming my injury and getting back in shape.

"Then I can explore it and do the tests and see where I am." It's a personal goal no matter what people think about it. I will not lie to myself: if I feel that I can not do it, I will say, "Forget it". I will not embarrass myself. "

Borussia CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke spoke with Reviersport about Bolt's possible trial with the club:

"Our word is our link, I will meet the CEO of Puma Bjorn Gulden this week, and this is on our list."

Bolt recently confirmed that several clubs have approached him to take him aboard, and he hopes to play professionally in 2018. "
