‘Cristiano Ronaldo Is Finished’ – Messi

According to reports, Barcelona star Lionel Messi believes that Cristiano Ronaldo finished at Real Madrid.

Ronaldo had a nightmarish start to the season, scoring only one league goal for Real Madrid so far. There seems to be real concern at the Bernabéu that his talisman is over, with the 32-year-old approaching the last years of his career.

And the Spanish site Don Balon says that Lionel Messi believes that Ronaldo will never find the form that has made him such a formidable opponent in recent years.

Ronaldo won the FIFA World Player of the Year title last month for his White exploits last season, where he sacked them for Spanish and European glory.

But the brutal fact is that he has been unworthy of this award based on this season's performances. He has eight goals in all competitions, but the domestic situation in Madrid has joined his. Barcelona is already eight points behind Real Madrid at the top, with Valencia interspersed.

Don Balon says Messi also plans to improve his game to beat Ronaldo in individual prizes next season. The 30-year-old is supposed to recognize that Ronaldo will not be able to match his own exploits, since the Argentine international already has 12 for the current season. But Barcelona's performance as a team will undoubtedly determine the prices it will get in 2018.

FIFA awards, while intended to reflect individual performance, often reflect how an individual's team has been taken into account. Messi was the only exception to the rule in 2010, where he won the award despite the fact that Barcelona could not retain the Champions League, losing to Inter Jose Mourinho.

Meanwhile, Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta helped Messi to break more records at Barça after playing his 600th match against Sevilla this weekend. "The appearance of the number 600 of Messi is a lot of games and it is very difficult to reach such a figure," he said.

"But the 600 games are certainly well below what they will eventually reach and with luck [other appearances] can be accompanied by more trophies."
