Real Madrid overtake Barcelona as most successful club of all time

Real Madrid is now the most successful club of all time.
The champions of La Liga defeated their rival El-Clásico, Barcelona, which already held the title with its many trophies, including 24 league titles, 29 Copa del Rey and five European Cups.
But after FIFA officially recognized the winners of the Intercontinental Cup, which was organized between 1960 and 2004 as the world club champion, Real has surpassed the Catalans.
The Santiago Bernabeu club won the tournament that disappeared today in 1960, 1998 and 2002, beating respectively Peñarol, Vasco De Gama and Olimpia.
Los Blancos has 33 league titles in Spain, 19 league titles in the Copa del Rey and 12 league titles in Europe to support their world titles.
Earlier this week, Manchester United was retrospectively named Club World Champion for their 1-0 win over Palmeiras in 1999.
