Why Cristiano Ronaldo went home "upset" despite Real Madrid's win against Las Palmas

Zinedine Zidane's team won, but it was not enough to keep Ronaldo happy

Real Madrid beat Las Palmas 3-0 on Sunday night, but Cristiano Ronaldo has always returned home "angry".

The European champions, fresh out of a national defeat in Girona and a defeat in the Champions League in Tottenham, have regained their usual arrogance with a comfortable win at Bernabéu.

Casemiro calmed his nerves just before the break and Isco closed the scoring with a short-range shot and Marcos Asensio made a save. Ronaldo, meanwhile, cut the wood three times.

The 32-year-old has scored just one goal in his last four games and Ramos has revealed that the Portuguese striker is always coming back unhappy if he does not score, regardless of the result.

"Cristiano comes home when he does not score, but he makes a difference," Ramos told Movistar Partidazo.

"Cristiano and Karim [Benzema] will score goals early.

"We do not worry if they scored only a few goals because both make the difference and the important thing is to win."

In Asensio, Ramos added: "It's great to score those goals, he has an innate talent and I hope he will continue to be lucky in front of goal."

"I have said many times that you have to leave this boy calm, do not put stones in his backpack.

"This victory has improved our confidence and it's the way to recover from our results."

Las Palmas coach Pako Ayesteran has now suffered six consecutive defeats in the league and is expected to face looting.

"I am focused on getting the most out of this team," he said of speculation.

"They have shown that they are committed and involved and the rest is not in our hands.

"I'm proud of the team, we got positive things from this game, including the first half in which we controlled the game."
